Athens Video Art Festival
CALL FOR ENTRIES

Categories: Video Art, Video Installations, Live Art, Artistic Constructions
www.athensvideoartfestival.gr/eng
After the successful materialization of the first Athens Video Art Festival, an innovative festival for digital art in its moving form, which is one of the most radically developing forms of art combining photography, movement, music and experimentalism, Multitrab Productions** invites again all the lovers of the moving image (regardless of age) to take part in the 2nd Athens Video Art Festival which will take place in April 2006.
Once more, people will be encouraged to create freely but also to dare to express themselves and their views on a specific theme.
This year new categories will be included: video installations, artistic constructions and live art.
Well known video art festivals from other countries will be “hosted” by the 2nd Athens Video Art Festival, by dedicating a substantial part of it to them as videos, extra information and exclusive material from the festivals will be shown. Also there will be mention of activities relevant to video art, taking place in Greece. Each day of the festival, after the projections, an audiovisual event will take place following electro-ambient musical paths.
* Apart from the option of submitting video art on a subject of your choice, there will be an optional theme suggested by the Athens Video Art Festival, aiming to stimulate the imagination of the artists and to give them extra motives to create new work. The artists are asked to unfold their thoughts and to create images concerning the terms “man” – “freedom” - “nature” – “society” – “honey bee” – “motion” – “life” and their view of them, feeling free to experiment.
Please fill in the online pre-entry form before submitting your video and your official entry form. You can fill in the pre-entry form online and also download the entry form online.

Trans-Media-Akademie Hellerau e.V
CYNETart festival

Call for entries for the CYNETart award 2006 international competition for computer-based art
www.body-bytes.de/tma/index.htm
CYNETart has been showing new trends of cultural developments in the media arts since 1997. The consequences of the prevailing progress of civilisation and the introduction of new information technologies in all fields of social life lead to the disembodiment of perception triggering the examination of a new sensitivity for physical experience and for the perception of one’s own body.
The international festival focuses on the changed perception of the body caused by new information technologies. At this, the performance of the new technologie is less important, it is rather about their cultural potential for mediation. This applies f.i. to linkages between existential questions of humankind and their perception.
It also applies to a more sensual approach to scientific methods of research and the interconnections between the arts.
CYNETart_06humane is devoted to the theme of Body-images – Image-body :: the bred, contstructed, staged, cultivated, homemade and self-designed human being.
Categories realtime processing dance and technology :: choreography :: stage design :: performance :: installations :: virtual environments :: computer games
The submitted project focuses on the integrated body and its medial “embodiment” in dance pieces, installations, computer games or performances. The transposition is using suitable interfaces and software (f.i. camera motion sensing-systems), which allow for the realtime linkage of physical movement with auditory/visual processes.
new cultures net culture platforms :: concepts :: social movements based on new technologies
You may submit strategies or blueprints which understand the net as extended social interaction/cooperation; utopian drafts of societies with the inherent attempt to include them into active social life. How is technological and intellectual knowledge applied to the practice of an electronic culture of awareness?
audio processing, visual processing sound design :: Netzmusik :: audio-visual compositions :: vj-performances Digital processing, alteration, linkage or process generation are topical parts of the work.
You may submit sound compositions, audio-visual compositions, performance applications (f.i. in the field of vj-ing), or applications with an open structure.
graphics, animation, net art screen interaction :: graphics :: animations :: software art :: generative tools :: net art
Your work focuses on the presentation on a monitor or a screen. The category subsumes alternative streams of narration such as graphics, video pieces and DVD productions from the fields of internet, design and film, and also software tools which go beyond the daily use of standard menu applications. Transcategorial projects are welcome and can be submitted. However, please choose a category according to the main focus of the project.

ATLANTIC CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Artists-in-Residence Program (ACA)

Call for artists from different disciplines to work together with distinguished masters in the fields of visual, literary, performing and musical arts.
www.atlanticcenterforthearts.org/artresprog
Since 1982, Atlantic Center's residency program has provided artists from all artistic disciplines with spaces to live, work, and collaborate during three-week residencies.
Located just four miles from the east coast beaches of central Florida, the pine and palmetto wooded environment contains award-winning studios that include a resource library, painting studio, sculpture studio, music studio, dance studio, black box theater, writer's studio, and digital computer lab.
Each residency session includes three master artists of different disciplines. The master artists each personally select a group of associates - talented, emerging artists - through an application process administered by ACA.
During the residency, artists participate in informal sessions with their group, collaborate on projects, and work independently on their own projects. The relaxed atmosphere and unstructured program provide considerable time for artistic regeneration and creation. Atlantic Center for the Arts provides housing (private room/bath with work desk), weekday meals (provided by ACA chef) and 24 hour access to shared studio space.
All applications must be postmarked by the application deadline date. Application Requirements vary for each residency.
There is a $25 application fee.
If accepted as an Associate Artist, there is non-refundable $850 residency fee. Financial Aid is available.

ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival
ANTI Festival

ANTI seeks to activate 12 previously selected sites/environments with the help of pieces of art.
http://www.kuopiofestivals.fi/index.cfm?objectid
The pieces can take place directly in the proposed place or conceptually in- or outdoors.
It is essential for the proposals to take into consideration the audience and customers that are already present at each location. Site-specificity is an extremely important factor when it comes to assessing and selecting momentary performances as well as sculptural works. In addition to the physical place the idea of the work can deal with the notion of space through people who work in that particular place or the values, actions or contemporary events that the place represents. The piece may also somehow combine various locations and themes. The artist(s) choose(s) a location for his/her/their piece from the ones proposed.
THE FORM OF PROPOSALS AND REQUIREMENTS
The proposals must include the name of the artist, contact details and a CV, working title of the work, place, budget, technical requirements and a working plan (max. 1 page) and only one appendix (i.e. photograph, video, CD-ROM). Appendices will not be returned. It is not necessary that the proposal is technically ready before submission as the idea can be developed afterwards. However, it is important that the main idea of the work and the estimated costs are clearly stated in the proposal. Estimated costs should include all the necessary materials, travelling costs and performing fee. Other possible sources of financing such as bursaries should also be stated in the proposal. Photos and introductory texts of the sites are available at SITES.
Artists and students from all artistic fields as well as designers are encouraged to submit their new ideas and works of art.
The sites of the ANTI 2006 festival are the town hall, the cinema Maxim, a youth centre, the balcony of Carlson department store, a hotel room in the Hotel Puijonsarvi, the observatory, the airport, Väinölänniemi tennis court, an empty building ground, Huoneistokeskus estate agency, Savonia polytechnic and Kuopio office of Kela (the Social Insurance Institution of Finland).
